Partnering with Diverse Abilities, Julia’s House, and Lewis-Manning Hospice Care, the initiative collects trees for recycling, benefiting both the environment and these charitable causes.

Our Managing Director, Justin Dampney, highlights the program’s success, saying, “We’ve been offering this service to charities for years, with growing participation. We recycle trees into compost and woodchip, benefiting our community’s green spaces while supporting these incredible charities.”

Diverse Abilities collected 1,963 trees, raising over £29,000! Helen Mortimer, head of fundraising, emphasises: “It’s a fabulous way to raise vital funds for Diverse Abilities, providing support for those with disabilities and their families. The funds raised this year will help to provide all sorts of activities for children and adults, as well as providing practical and mental health support for their families.”

Julia’s House, caring for children with life-limiting conditions, collected 1,463 trees, raising £10,727. Charlie Squires from Julia’s House notes: “We’re delighted to be running our charity Christmas tree collection again this year and so thankful for all our amazing volunteers who are getting involved in helping to collect all the trees. Any donations will make a vital difference in helping us to care for local seriously ill children and their families.”

Lewis-Manning Hospice Care, providing aid to those with life-limiting illnesses, collected over 1,000 trees in the BH1-BH23 area and raised £18,000. Fundraising Manager, Vicki Gray said: “Thank you so much to all the team at Eco Sustainable Solutions for supporting Lewis-Manning Hospice Care’s Christmas Tree Collection and Recycling Campaign for yet another year in 2024. This will be the 6th year that our charity has been offering the successful and popular service in our community and the 4th year that Eco has generously supported us.”

Justin adds, “We’ve been a part of the community for over 30 years and are proud to support these incredible organisations that help our most needed thrive.”

The Christmas trees will be given a second life as compost through our open windrow composting process.
