Our latest annual Sustainability Report reveals we recycled in 2025:
• 56,777 tonnes of green waste
• 33,942 tonnes of food waste
• 57,686 tonnes of wood waste
• 52,363 tonnes of excavated soils
• 20,307 tonnes of street sweepings
Our facilities generated enough renewable electricity to power the equivalent of 5,718 homes!
In a foreword to the report, Justin Dampney, our MD, said: “Without question, the standout achievement of 2025 was the commissioning of our second Anaerobic Digestion (AD) facility at Chapel Gate Eco Park.
“From breaking ground in 2024 to delivering an industry-leading plant capable of processing 100,000 tonnes of food and liquid waste annually, converting it into more than 800 cubic metres of biomethane per hour, injected directly into the national gas grid, the project has been a tremendous team effort.
“Working with the team and witnessing a project which we received planning permission for nearly ten years ago, has been one of the proudest moments of my career.
“My thanks go to everyone who helped turn 12 years of learnings into something genuinely world-class.”
Other highlights during the year include helping five charities raise a record £70,000 through the annual Christmas tree recycling initiative and donating £30,000 for solar panels and battery storage at West Parley Community Hub.
Justin said: “As I look back on 30 years of Eco and ahead to what comes next, I’m reminded that everything we’ve built has been built together.
“Our Sustainability Values – People, Planet, Process, Profit – remain as prominent as ever, and the team’s drive to innovate, improve and enjoy the journey is what continues to make the company what it is.”
Eco recycles green, wood, sweepings and food waste for both BCP Council and Dorset Council among many other contracts.
