Partnering with TJ Waste to Tackle Food Waste

10 September 2025

We’re excited to announce a new partnership with TJ Waste & Recycling that will help turn more food waste into renewable energy here on the South Coast.

As part of the initiative, we’re providing a dedicated food waste transfer point at TJ’s materials recovery facility in Yapton, West Sussex. This will make it easier for commercial operators and local authorities to offload food waste, which TJ will then transport to our anaerobic digestion plant in Parley, near Bournemouth Airport.

Luke Haskell, Director at TJ Waste & Recycling, said:

“TJ’s partnership with Eco will help increase the amount of green power generated by food waste here on the South Coast – and new recycling legislation is a driving force for the tie-up.

The Simpler Recycling legislation (Environment Act 2020) mandates a timeline for the segregation of food waste for eligible businesses and households effective from April this year, meaning a significantly higher volume in food waste collections.”

Peter Hardy, our Sales Director, added:

“We’re pleased to be working with TJ on this initiative, offering a much-needed new service on the South Coast.”

By combining our expertise with TJ’s logistics, we’re making food waste recycling more efficient, cutting carbon emissions, and creating green energy for thousands of homes.
