We’ve expanded our product range with Wildflower Turf!

We have joined forces with award winning Harrowden Turf to expand our range of high-quality landscaping products to include several varieties of new Meadowmat Wildflower Turf.

Perfect for homeowners and landscapers, the new range of wildflower turf will make it easier to create beautiful and sustainable outdoor spaces. This wildflower turf has an incredible ability to retain colour and lushness, even in challenging conditions. Not only this but it’s a naturally speedy way to create a wildlife-friendly patch in your garden. These turfs are applicable to a wide range of landscaping applications, including residential and commercial lawns.

Wildflower lawns are part of a growing movement away from the traditional short-cut grass lawns previously typical of commercial and residential spaces across the UK. In comparison, a typical monoculture grass lawn has less to offer insects and animals in terms of habitat and food options.

Wildflower lawns and meadows on the other hand are great for biodiversity providing bees, butterflies, and other important pollinators with food. On a single day in summer, one acre of wildflower meadow can contain 3 million flowers, producing 1kg of nectar sugar. That’s enough to support nearly 96,000 honeybees per day. Not only that, but wildflower lawns also help fight climate change, sequestering as much carbon as woodland.

Group Marketing Manager at Harrowden Turf, Simon Marsh, commented “With the new year comes new opportunities and we’re pleased to be working with Eco Sustainable Solutions. The green agenda has never been more important, each piece of our Meadowmat Wildflower Turf is nurtured from seed to dispatch, grown outdoors and wherever possible using UK-sourced seeds. With wildflower turf becoming more and more popular this is set to be a great partnership and start to 2023.”

We have multiple variations of Wildflower Turf options available, including:

  • Traditional Wildflower Turf

Harrowden Traditional Meadowmat is a blend of 3 slow-growing grasses and 31 natives wildflowers typically found in an old fashioned hay meadow. Many of the species are perennial which means they will flower every year if the conditions are suitable. The specially selected grasses ensure cover all year round.

  • Birds and Bees Wildflower Turf

A blend of 41 native wildflowers specially selected to be pollinator friendly. Most of the species are perennial which means they will flower every year if the conditions are suitable. Grown on a biodegradable coir blanket, meaning no grass species are required, resulting in a more colourful wildflower turf.

  • Cottage Garden Wildflower Turf

A blend of 2 slow growing grasses and 30 native wildflowers, many of which could be found in an old fashioned English garden. Most of the species are perennial which means they will flower every year if the conditions are suitable.
